The Riviera: sun and glamour

Nice’s Promenade for the sea air, Èze for the village-in-the-sky views, Monaco for the yachts and the casino photo, Cannes for the red-carpet steps. The coastal corniche roads between them are half the experience — and precisely where you want a driver instead of a rental car and an impossible parking hunt.

Provence: lavender and stone villages

Gordes and Roussillon perched over the valley, Avignon’s papal palace, markets full of things you’ll wish you could pack. The lavender you’ve seen in every photo blooms roughly from mid-June to mid-July — time the trip for those weeks if the purple fields are the point.

How many days, and how to route it

Three days covers one side well; five lets you do both coast and countryside without rushing — our signature routes start from €1,950 for three Provence days and €2,600 for four Riviera days.

From Paris, many groups take the fast train south and meet their van there; others make the drive itself the trip, with stops in Lyon or the Rhône valley. Both work — tell us your dates and we’ll shape it in chat.

When is the best time to go?

May, June, and September are the sweet spot: warm, bright, and calmer than August. For lavender specifically, aim for mid-June to mid-July.

Riviera or Provence, if we must choose?

Groups who want glamour and sea views choose the Riviera; groups who want scenery and slow days choose Provence. Families splitting the difference usually love Provence mornings and coastal sunsets — which a van makes possible in one trip.

Can this connect to a bigger Europe trip?

Very naturally — the South of France pairs beautifully with Italy next door or the Swiss Alps on the way back north. Many of our multi-day loops do exactly that.
